Ken Richards started his own insurance agency in 1994 selling life, health, and investments. In 2005, the Brokers Insurance Agency added property and casualty insurance in order to offer our clients more complete layers of protection for both insurance and financial services. Ken's extensive knowledge and experience in the insurance industry allows us to build long-lasting relationships with our clients in the community.

Most recently in May 2021, we purchased Brokers Agency and along with this came our name changing to Brokers Insurance Agency. Brokers Agency provided property and casualty insurance in Nebraska for over 4 decades and became close friends with the Brokers Insurance Agency within the last few years. We look forward to this opportunity and continuing to provide quality service to our valued clients.

She graduated with an associate’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business management. Mickena Richards Spahn is our Director of Sales and has been part of the agency since 2022. She specializes in personal insurance, including home, auto, and life, as well as commercial insurance. Mickena enjoys building a personal connection with her clients and educating her clients on the coverage that best meets their needs. Mickena also attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and graduated with two degrees (Business Administration and Psychology) in 2023. Nicole Bartzatt is a licensed property and casualty agent who began working with our agency in August 2018. Payton Mayfield joined our team in June of 2024 and has recently obtained her license in property and casualty insurance. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December of 2023. Payton is also enlisted in the Nebraska Air National Guard. She graduated from Doane University in 2016 with a degree in Business Administration and Human Resources Management.
